Harvest Tide: landing the rare catches
Farming pays the bills in Harvest Tide, but fishing is where the fun and the rare rewards are. The minigame looks simple, and it is, but the rare fish demand near-perfect timing.
The core loop is holding to reel and releasing when the marker lines up. For rare fish the marker moves erratically, so anticipate rather than react. Watch its rhythm for a second before you commit.
Time of day matters. The rare tide-pool catches only appear in the early morning window, so plan your in-game day around it if you're hunting a specific one. We wasted a few days fishing at the wrong hour.
Upgrade your rod before your farm tools if fishing is your thing. The better rod widens the timing window and makes the whole minigame less punishing.
Don't stress the misses. Fish respawn constantly and the game is generous with second chances. It's meant to be relaxing, so treat a lost catch as a reason to cast again, not a failure.
